Caustic soda, also known as sodium hydroxide or industrial alkali, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaOH. As a strong base, it is a white opaque plume crystal with a melting point of 328 degrees °C. Crisp, soluble in water and emits a lot of heat. Its aqueous solution is alkaline and feels creamy.
